Conversations in Grailgun

Conversations in Grailgun are the communication history between users and your bot. The “Conversations” section allows you to view, analyze, and manage all conversations happening with your bot, helping to improve interaction quality and track bot effectiveness.

In the “Conversations” section, you can:

  • See the complete message history with each user
  • Track interaction chronology
  • View message content, including text, media files, and other content types

For convenient conversation management, the following functions are available:

  • Search by user name or identifier
  1. Go to the “Conversations” section in the Grailgun main menu
  2. You’ll see a list of all conversations, sorted by date (newest first)
  3. Each entry contains:
    • User name
    • Date and time of last message
    • Brief preview of last message

To view the complete conversation history:

  1. Click on the desired entry in the conversations list
  2. A detailed view with complete message history will open
  3. Messages are displayed in chronological order with timestamps
  4. Bot and user messages are visually distinguished
  • Regularly review conversations to identify common issues
  • Analyze user exit points from dialogue to improve retention
  • Pay attention to phrases that cause difficulties for users

How long are conversations stored in the system?

Section titled “How long are conversations stored in the system?”

Conversations are stored in the system for 90 days, after which they are automatically archived. Archived conversations are available upon request.

Do users see that I’m viewing their conversations?

Section titled “Do users see that I’m viewing their conversations?”

No, administrator conversation viewing is completely invisible to users and does not affect their interaction with the bot in any way.

Can I reply to a user on behalf of the bot through the conversations interface?

Section titled “Can I reply to a user on behalf of the bot through the conversations interface?”

Yes, an administrator can write to a user on behalf of the bot directly from the conversation with that user.
